Mia Khalifa was born into a Maronite Catholic family in Beirut and grew up in a conservative household. After immigrating to the United States in 2001, she settled in Maryland, where she experienced both opportunity and hardship. As an immigrant, she faced bullying and discrimination, particularly after the 9/11 attacks, experiences that shaped her resilience and determination.

She has been married twice, first to Wyatt O’Brien (2011–2016) and later to Swedish chef Robert Sandberg (2019–2021). She has also been linked to Puerto Rican artist Jhayco. Mia is known for her distinctive tattoos, including the opening lines of the Lebanese national anthem, reflecting her cultural pride and complex relationship with her homeland.

Outside of her professional life, Mia enjoys sports, music, and engaging with her fans. She has openly discussed her struggles with the stigma of her past, mental health challenges, and the difficulties of rebuilding her life after adult entertainment.
