Mia Khalifa - Career
Career
Mia Khalifa’s entry into adult entertainment began in October 2014 when she filmed her first scenes in Miami. Her rapid success was unprecedented: within weeks, she became Pornhub’s most searched performer, overtaking industry veterans like Lisa Ann. The catalyst was a scene in which she wore a hijab, which ignited outrage in the Middle East but also fueled her viral fame. Pornhub reported that her searches quintupled in early January 2015, with a significant portion coming from Lebanon, Syria, and Jordan.
Her career in adult films was short-lived. She appeared in around 37–52 credited videos, working with major studios including Bang Bros, Score Group, and others. Despite her popularity, she retired after just three months, citing both personal disillusionment and safety concerns. The intense backlash, including threats from ISIS and condemnation from Lebanese media, made her continued involvement untenable.
After leaving the industry in early 2015, Mia shifted her focus to other pursuits. She became a camgirl, built a strong social media presence, and eventually broke into sports commentary. In 2017, she co-hosted Out of Bounds with Gilbert Arenas on Complex News, covering sports and pop culture. She also collaborated with Rooster Teeth Productions on the Sportsball podcast. These ventures helped her transition from adult star to mainstream personality.
Mia has since worked as a model, influencer, and brand ambassador. By 2019, she had amassed millions of followers across Instagram and Twitter, leveraging her fame for fashion, lifestyle, and activist campaigns. Despite attempts to distance herself from her adult career, she remains one of the most searched names online, a testament to her cultural impact.
